Therapy

I do not think in terms of the typical classifications like ‘depression’ or ‘anxiety disorder’ (outside of the requirements as set by the insurance companies). Instead, I will cooperate with you to come to an agreement for a treatment on the basis in which your problem presents itself and how you are limited by it. Everything is done in cooperation, with as little labeling as possible.

If we have made sufficiently clear what your problem looks like, we will begin investigating together examples from your daily life, and sometimes also from the interaction between the two of us. The direct experience of feelings is very important, as is clarifying the unconscious strategies that you employ that maintain your problem and keep you stuck. I will help you to, emotionally and lived, not just intellectually, gain insight into the strategies you employ and motivate you and support you to change these. This is never easy, and never a matter of simply changing your thinking.
